Currently, Bulgaria has 68 effective tax treaties with countries located in Europe (including all EU Member States), Asia, North America, and Africa.
Most of Bulgaria’s tax treaty partners (36 out of 68 treaties) are located in Europe. This includes all EU member states as well as EU partners but nonmembers, such as Switzerland and Norway.
Bulgaria has tax treaties with about 25 states in Asia and is one of the few states in the EU that has effective treaties with former Soviet Union states. That makes Bulgaria an attractive destination for cross-border business and workers from the Middle East and Asia.
